About Palm Oil Free
Launched on World Animal day 2010, Planet Ark's Palm Oil Free campaign was made possible through the generous support of Aware - the first palm oil free laundry products available in major supermarkets.
With your help, between October 2010 and March 2011, Aware and Planet Ark raised over $35,000 to assist projects run by the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation and the Australian Orangutan Project, who are helping to protect orangutans from deforestation caused by palm oil plantations. Clean Clothes, Clean Conscience
The tropical rainforests of Indonesia and Malaysia are home to the amazing Sumatran and Bornean orangutans. Malaysia and Indonesia are also the world’s largest growers and exporters of palm oil, a versatile vegetable oil used in numerous consumer products from food and cosmetics to soaps and detergents. Unfortunately due to increasing global demand for palm oil, the rainforest is disappearing at a rapid rate and these habitats and their inhabitants are under serious threat. Be Aware, Buy Aware And Save The Orangutans
Fortunately there are alternatives and ways you can help.
Every time you purchase an Aware product you are supporting Planet Ark’s environmental campaigns. But between Ist October 2010 and 31st March 2011, every time you buy an Aware laundry product, an additional 10 cents goes to Planet Ark to assist projects protecting orangutans from the effects of deforestation due to palm oil. Aware is the first Palm Oil Free laundry products available in major supermarkets. Click here to learn more.
So when you buy this, or other Palm Oil Free products, you are helping to secure a brighter future for the rainforests and orangutans of South-East Asia.
